Description

Fluorescence microscopy image of two P. putida strains, each with basal expression of either msfGFP or mScarlet from the genomic Tn7 insertion site. Population dynamics of strains exhibiting obligate dependency. Minimal M9 medium without carbon source. As part of four images used to calculate cell clump formation. Hypothesis: without a carbon source that promotes the dependency, clumps will only form as a stress response.

Technical Details

Taken by ZEISS Elyra 7 with lattice SIM mounted with the ZEISS objective Plan-Apochromat 63x/1,4 Oil DIC M27 and captured in pixel size 60 nm. Channels 488 nm and 561 nm. 3D data processed with Zeiss software SIM2 and visualised as orthogonal projection.
