Fawcett M.D. Freeze substitution preparations of gerbil parotid gland show condensing vacuoles arising from the Golgi (arrows, upper panel). Both upper and lower figures show secretory granules with a dense core and lighter cortex. Image by Atsuchi Ichikawa.
