High resolution micrograph following trifluoperizine (TFP) treatment, which apparently does not inhibit endocytosis but does inhibit movement of vesicles away from the parasomal sacs, coated and preendosomal vesicles and early endosomes become strongly labeled with HRP but all remain within the cortex. TFP seems to interfere with membrane movements into the cell so that even the products of coated pits arising from early endosomes, the carrier vesicles, remain in the cortex.
