This group represents a serial series of sections. At the level of this section, the macronucleus and micronucleus are present. In the buccal cavity a row of paroral cilia is seen to separate the buccal cavity from the beginning of the cytopharynx. The spongiome of CV, membranelles of perioral ciliature, oral cilia, and the microtubules bordering the ventral wall of the BC are all evident. TEM taken on 3/12/71 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A operating at 75kV. Neg. 3,800X. Bar = 2µm. Standard glutaraldehyde fixation followed by osmium tetroxide, dehydrated in alcohol and embedded in an epoxy resin. Microtome sections prepared thicker to accommodate the series. Additional information available at (http://www5.pbrc.hawaii.edu/allen/).
