Description

Figures 213 (upper) and 214 (lower) from Chapter 6 (Golgi Apparatus) of 'The Cell, 2nd Ed.' by Don W. Fawcett M.D. The Golgi complex of a Leydig cell from guinea pig testis (upper) and from and acinar cell from rat pancreas (lower). Content of the Golgi lumen has been extracted from the steroid-secreting Leydig cell, whereas it has been preserved in the protein-secreting acinar cell and appears as a dense, granular particulate. Image in the lower panel by Daniel Friend. A PDF copy of the accompanying chapter is available on the ASCB’s BioEDUCATE website.
